The answer is "as secure as sending a check in the mail!"
Our goal is to speed the movement of money without placing that money at risk. That is why we have built in the following safeguards.
- In order to list invoices online using the
InvoiceAction system, a prospective user must sign up online.
- We verify by phone all those who have signed up and delete accounts that are inaccurate.
- A registered user's account is password protected.
- We send outgoing fax and e-mail notifications of payment incentive offers per the contact information provided by the registered user.
- When we make our first collection call we verify the fax information is accurate.
- Our outgoing fax notifications contain an authorization number that is required from the payer in order to process a payment.
- We require the payer to fax a check to our office in order to complete the payment process.
- We send you a draft of the check by a qualified express mail provider that guarantees delivery.
With all of these safeguards in place, our process is as secure as sending a check by mail. In the future, we envision a fully electronic means of moving money directly into a registered user's account; however, we await the maturity of the Internet when large amounts of money can be securely and cost-effectively transmitted.
